THE SAUGATUCK STORYFEST TEEN BOARD.
The Saugatuck Story Festival and Writers’ Conference is a three-day event that combines a town-wide multidisciplinary literary festival with a craft-focused workshop-based writers conference. The Festival is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between the Westport Library and Staples High School, incorporating teen voices from the surrounding communities, and is a celebration of reading, writing, ideas and community. With a focus on experiencing story through a variety of lenses, voices and experiences, the Saugatuck Story Festival strives to connect communities through story.
Student voice and input is one of the most important aspects of the planning process for the Saugatuck StoryFest. Our voices are from a variety of local communities in Westport and Bridgeport, Connecticut. Members of the Teen Board generate ideas, assist with organization, publicize the event, and lead fundraising efforts. This website serves as a way to document the Teen Board's progress. Summaries of meetings, updates, photos, and blog posts will be posted here.
